Disc Golf Ace Pots - Are they worth it?
By sillsil2 | April 3, 2008
Have you ever gone to a tournament and been asked if you want to enter into the Ace Pot? Have you ever considered if they're worth it?
Obviously, the idea of these ace pots are just for fun and you're trying to get an ace whenever you possibly can. However, have you ever considered if you should be entering? ie: is it worth the money?
It never really occurred to me until the infamous Cubby visited my site the other day. He even left a comment on my site. I realize that he's not a 'professional' disc golfer or anything but this man has had 280 aces (as of today, April 2nd). 280! Can you believe that? And he's put many disc golf videos on youtube of him getting aces!
So, if you went to a tournament and their was an ace pot and Cubby was at the tournament would you enter the ace pot? Obviously, I'd still enter because it's for fun (and it's cheap) but come on 280 hole in ones!
Here's the video of his 280th ace. I really like this video because not only can you see the disc coming in for a while, which is very cool, but you can also see a Homemade Disc Golf Basket. It looks like it's made out of some sort of plastic fence, PVC pipe and metal chains.
